Maurice FernandezThe Yod ~ Configuration for the Masterful
Composed of two quincunxes and a sextile, the Yod attracts a great deal of attention among astrologers. Often called "The Finger of God," this pointed-shaped configuration seems to describe fated developments in the astrology chart. One thing is for sure, the Yod requires the highest of a person's integrity; it deflates arrogance and can only be mastered through sincere humility. Join Maurice for accessible and insightful perspectives on this phenomenon. Maurice goes through all possible Yod placements in the chart, detailing the different evolutionary lessons in each case.
Georgia Stathis
Electing Decent Business Charts
Clients want the perfect electional chart, which is, frankly, impossible. There are always periods of time in which long-range stressful aspects just don't let up like the current Saturn Pluto square. However, individuals still need charts for new ventures. So what does the astrologer do? Do we close up our shop until conditions improve or do we dive in and do the best we can with what we have to work with? Stathis explores the various approaches she uses to elect a 'decent' chart for different venues such as business, events, marketing periods, research periods, etc. She will walk you through the procedure she uses for her clients, which also includes how she contracts with clients to do the work. Stathis, a faculty member at Kepler College, heading up the new Business Certification program is an experienced astrologer who has developed these techniques over 30+ years.
Richard Tarnas
The Comic Genius: An Archetypal Perspective
This workshop is based on a longer graduate seminar that Tarnas and John Cleese taught together at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Using archetypal astrology as a lens, we will consider major figures in the history of modern comedy from Chaplin and the Marx Brothers through Monty Python, Nichols and May, Peter Sellers, and Woody Allen to Lily Tomlin, Robin Williams, and Stephen Colbert. Brief clips of (brilliantly funny) individual performances will be viewed as a basis for the analysis. A major focus will be on understanding how the different planetary archetypes and combinations distinctively shape comedy and reflect specific elements in comic creativity, in the individual comic's internal dynamics, and in the larger culture.

Roy Gillett
World Economy and Astro-Cycles - 1979-2024
How did financial astrologers forecast the 2008 global crisis several years in advance? Have world economic policies since 2008 solved the crisis or merely delayed and made it worse? Roy will interpret the astro-cycles until 2024. What realities are the outer-planetary planetary patterns of Pluto in Capricorn period forcing upon? What role may ecological realities and disasters play? Is East Asian prosperity as secure as it seems? Do the astro-cycles suggest growth is a source of salvation, or a barrier to genuine prosperity and happiness?

An Introduction to Medieval Mundane Techniques
This workshop includes and introduction to the method and rationale of the Great Conjunctions, as well as methods for analyzing solar ingress charts and other related types of charts such as eclipses, lunations, etc. The methods used are derived from the works of Masha Allah, Abu Mashar, Bonatti and others. Such techniques have been used to forecast political, economic events as well as changes in weather.

Astrology and Psychopathology
Mental health is more a goal to aspire to, than a destination routinely enjoyed, as is illustrated by the fact that as many as a quarter of people in the West, in a single year, will seek treatment for some kind of psychological distress. Another recent estimate suggests that a third of people who reach the age of 65 will, at some stage, suffer with some form of dementia. Depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsion, addiction, alzheimers, schizophrenia, ADHD - the list of labels we may fall prey to, is endless. Today Sue will explore the astrology and psychology behind some of these conditions and, where possible, consider ways forward for sufferers, careers and society at large.
